What Am I Getting?

5 Weeks. Three ways to train.

Start from the foundations: footwork, stance, basic strikes, and build from there. By week five you will be moving, hitting and thinking like a martial artist.

Who's Coaching Me?

Decades on the mats & in the ring

Our coaching team has competed at Scottish, British and European level, trained in Thailand and fought on world stages.

But titles are not the whole story. Every coach at EDA knows how to bring a complete beginner in properly. You will be in good hands from session one.

All You Need To Know

First Round FAQs

Will I be the only beginner? +

No. First Round is capped at 15 people, all starting from scratch at the same time. You will train in our main gym alongside our regular members, but you will not be thrown in at the deep end. You will be coached as a group, progressing together from session one.

What happens after 5 weeks? +

If you love it, which most people do, you can continue your journey with our Striking membership and keep training in the same gym, with the same coaches, alongside the same people you started with.

What do I need to bring? +

A water bottle, a towel and boxing gloves. We have loaner gloves available but we would recommend getting your own. Not sure what to buy? Get in touch before your first session and we will point you in the right direction. Everything else, we will provide.

Why Everyday Athlete Gym? +

We have been doing this for over 25 years. EDA has been the home of Muay Thai and boxing in Glasgow for a decade, and we have run more beginner programmes than we can count. We are a serious martial arts gym that knows how to bring complete beginners into the sport properly.
