Happy Monday Athletes and welcome to a new week of training!

Do you know what that means? Seven new opportunities for new starts.

This week we have over 35 classes for you to pick from, built around your schedule and your training needs.

It doesn’t get much better than that!

We continue with our exploration of tempo lifts, so let’s begin this week’s training review with a look at the benefits of this style of training!

Tempo lifting is a weightlifting technique that involves controlling the speed of each repetition of an exercise, usually by slowing it down. This method offers numerous benefits to lifters, from building muscle mass to improving overall strength.

One significant benefit of tempo lifting is that it creates more time under tension for the targeted muscles, which helps to increase muscle fiber recruitment and growth. Additionally, slowing down the movement reduces the risk of injury, as it allows for better control and reduces the momentum of the lift.

Tempo lifting also promotes better form and technique, as it forces the lifter to focus on each phase of the movement. Finally, incorporating tempo lifting into a workout routine can offer variety and challenge to prevent plateauing and promote progression.

Now we’ve covered the why, let’s get into this week's training!

Monday -
Starting the week strong with some tempo strict press! We are hitting singles in this session so go heavy, you want to make every rep count! From there we will progress onto a challenging 12-minute AMRAP of burpee ring muscles ups, wall balls, and a 100m run. Your reps increase every single round. So be prepared for a sweaty session!

Tuesday -
So let’s be real, Tuesday is the worst day of the week. You have the whole weekend to prepare you for Monday, but nothing prepares you for Tuesday. That’s why we have programmed every lifters, favourite movement, the deadlift.

It’s another day of singles, so go heavy!

Our strength session will then be followed up by a 14-minute EMOM of toes-to-bar and deadlifts, and max cal rows. We will make the worst day, the best day. You’ve got this!

Wednesday -
Gymnastics are back on the menu! With more handstand pushup practice.

We will be incorporating the movement into both workouts, yes you read the right we are fitting two workouts into this class, both of which are more performance-focused than strength to help you hone your skill.

Both sessions will be challenging but achievable!

Thursday -
It’s leg day!! And we are hitting it hard.

We’ve got tempo back squats and following suit from our previous strength sessions, we are hitting heavy singles. After our strength session, we will hit a challenging 4-set AMRAP of front squats and up-downs over the bar. It’s going to be a great session, so come along and give it your all!

Friday -
It's our first named workout of the week! We will be taking on AVA a 20-minute and 53-second AMRAP of 400m runs and 21 ground to overheads. This session is designed to push you to your limits.

But we know you guys, and we know you can do this!

The gym will be open on Sunday if you want to catch up on any missed sessions, practice your gymnastics skills or just grab a coffee with your favourite training partner!
