Happy Monday athletes and welcome to a new week of training!

Our new May deal has sold out! So if you see some new smiling faces in our classes this week be sure to give them a big EDA welcome, and a pat on the back for making it through this weeks sessions.

This is your official warning, they are going to be tough. But as always, we promise they will be fulfilling, rewarding and ideal for smashing your fitness goals.

This week we are continuing our gymnastics and tempo work for more on why we are incorporating this into our training style you can check out our last two blogs, for those who don’t care about the why and are more focused on what’s in store, lets just jump into it!

This week at Everyday Athlete Gym looks like -

Monday -

Tonight we are hitting an ultra sweaty AMRAP, what better way to start the week!

We will be rocking burpees, power cleans, then to finish it all off… a combo of burpees and power cleans! We know, we know, double burpees, on a Monday but honestly if you can think of a better way to wake up your body and start the week with a bang, we are all ears!

We will then move into some gymnastics work just to keep you on your toes!

Tuesday -

Welcome to your first session of your deload week.

Today we will be hitting back squat, but as we said this is deload week so keep it light.

Whilst the strength portion may be light, that doesn’t mean the workout will be easy!

We are hitting three rounds for time on calorie row, toes to bar and backsquats, be sure to caffienate and fuel up so you can give it your all!

Wednesday -

Week five of strict gymnastics continues with a 12 minute EMOM, all of our previous weeks practice will pay off as we hit deficit strict handstand push ups, single arm planks and shuttle runs.

But that’s not all!

Our second workout of the session will take the form of a challenging seven minute AMRAP.

Two workouts for the price of one, you are most certainly welcome!

Thursday -

It’s deload day two, and this time with a coaches favourite deadlifts. Keeping it light, we will be hitting 3 sets of 5.

Before jumping into a 15 minute EMOM of max bike calls and “Library” deadlifts. Your coaches will walk you through it, but as always if you have any questions they will be on hand ensuring you’re moving efficiently and safely!

Friday -

It’s Coach Valbo’s favourite, upper body day!

We are rocking a strict, but light, shoulder press. Following the same rep ranges as yesterday.

We’ll be moving straight onto our workout of the day which is another for time workout. As quickly as possible you will be tasked with running 400ms, round the block if it’s sunny or you can grab a free runner if you don’t fancy braving the Glasgow weather. After you’ve completed your run you’ll hit 5 rounds of box jumps and push press, then another 400m run.

It’s gonna be sweaty but we know you will love it!

Saturday -

Our members will be hitting their first named workout of the week “Cindy”, a nice little benchmark workout to see out the weeks training in style.

And because it’s the last coached workout of the week, we will finish up with a little partner session in true Saturday fashion.

As always we will be open on Sunday so you can hit any sessions you may have missed.

Everyday of the week you will be able to join Coach Martin, Coach Tommy and Coach Spencer for Mauy Thai.

It’s the national sport of Thailand, and one hell of a workout! Classes help everyone from beginners to professional fighters to better master a challenging martial art utilising combinations of punches, kicks, knees and elbows. Whilst that might sound intimidating, our coaches are pro’s and are there to help everyone.

Even if it’s your first time putting on a set of boxing, they will make sure you leave the class with a smile on your face and a love for a new sport!

It’s gonna be a hell of a week, and we can’t wait to see you achieve your goals!

If all of that sounds like your cup of tea, check out our membership options here. Have a fantastic week team!
