This Week at EDA 17.07.23
Welcome to a new week of training here at CrossFit EDA Glasgow.
Happy Monday Everyday Athletes and Welcome to Another Glorious Week of Training 🙌
You absolutely smashed week one of our Olympic Lifting program and we are excited to see what you do with week two.
Last week we announced that Coach Chris Mota will be hosting his pain-free performance seminar at EDA, and there are still a couple of tickets remaining. Visit his IG to secure your spot.
As we move into this new week we want to start with a reminder that if you're not hydrating properly before, after, and during your workouts you could be sabotaging your gains. So remember to drink plenty and make use of supplements like electrolytes during our hot (but usually rainy) summer days!
Now let’s jump into this week's training, shall we?
Monday -
We start the week strong with everyone’s favourite, deadlifts 🙌
Rocking a solid mix of strength and conditioning before moving into a partner finisher of 100m runs. Let’s pray for some decent weather or arrive early to secure your free runner!
Tuesday -
Our first Oly day of the week kicks off with push jerks!
We will be rocking some percentage work, so looking to hit 5x5 of 60% of last week's one-rep max! As always if you need help with the movement or the maths, grab a coach. That’s what they are there for!
Wednesday-
Let’s hit another Oly Day! This time it’s all about the legs.
We will be working high squat cleans, before moving into our first named workout of the week the Thigh of The Tiger. The rounds are high but the reps are low, so fuel up drink some caffeine and let’s see how quickly we can get through this for time workout!
Thursday -
Let’s take the foot off the gas a little bit and slow things down with some gymnastic work.
We are talking chest-to-bar practice, before moving into a challenging 18-minute EMOM.
Friday-
It’s all about the gains as we hit day 3 of the Oly Cycle.
We will be working front squats, before transitioning to a tough 4 sets of front rack lunges, and double unders!
Saturday -
We will be kicking off your weekend with some High-Hang Snatches! Before moving into not one, but two workouts.
We aren’t saying this is the only way to start your weekend, we are just saying it’s the best way!
On Sunday we’ll give you a chance to catch up on any sessions you’ve missed or just to use the open gym as an opportunity to get some extra fitness in 🙌
Muay Thai is running every night this week as always, so for those looking to get a real good sweat on this one’s for you.
These classes cater to everyone from pro fighters, to complete beginners. We all start somewhere and this could be your sign to try something new!
We can’t wait to see what you achieve this week, so let’s get to it 🙌
If you haven’t signed up yet, you can find out more about our memberships here. Or treat yourself to a drop-in and come along and try a class.
