This Week at EDA 10.07.23
Welcome to a new week of training here at CrossFit EDA Glasgow.
Happy Monday Everyday Athletes 🙌
As you know, here at EDA we love a Monday. It’s a chance for a new start, an opportunity to go after a new goal or refocus in on an existing one.
And what better way to go after a new goal, than with a new strength cycle 🙌
Today marks the start of our new eight-week program where we will be working on our Olympic Lifts. And we aren’t gonna lie we are buzzing for this one!
Because we can’t contain our excitement on this one, we are gonna go ahead and jump right into it!
Monday -
Tonight we will be working on our Clean and Jerks as we hit session one of our new program.
But that’s not all, tonight so we will be taking a little time for some “Grace”. And of course, by that, we mean 30 nice heavy reps of your clean and jerks, as fast as possible! What a way to start a week!
Tuesday -
Following on with our named workouts we will be tackling a challenging for-time workout in honour of US Army Staff Sergeant, Marc Smalls.
“Small” is a three-round workout featuring a 1000m row, 50 burpees, 50 box jumps, and an 800m run.
It’s going to be a tough one, but your EDA community will support you through the session!
Wednesday -
It’s workout 2 of the new cycle and we will be focusing on our Over Head Squat tekkers.
Our coaches will be on hand to help you work your way through 4 sets of 6 moderate reps!
We’ll then jump into a sweaty 15-minute AMRAP designed to get those legs working overtime!
Thursday-
Thursday's session sees the perfect mix of strength and conditioning with a 30-minute EMOM.
We’re talking your favourite cardio of choice, our favourite barbell complexes, and a tonne of abs. It’s gonna be a good one!
Friday -
It’s day three of Olympic lifting. And you’ve got 22 minutes to work up to your one rep max on snatches.
And because we are very generous, we will be giving you the option of what challenging named workout you want to take on this week. You can either face “Isabel” or “Randy”, we’ll leave it in your very capable hands!
Saturday -
We always like to leave something up our sleeves, so we will keep this one as a wee surprise for now. Just know you can bring a pal as we will have a partner option for those looking for some emotional support after what has been an incredible week of fitness!
On Sunday, we're giving you the opportunity to catch up on any missed sessions or simply use the open gym to squeeze in some extra fitness. 🙌
For those seeking an intense workout and a serious sweat, our Muay Thai classes will be running every night this week, as always. Whether you're a seasoned pro or a complete beginner, these classes cater to individuals of all skill levels. We all have to start somewhere, and this could be the perfect chance for you to explore something new!
