Happy Monday Everyday Athletes! Whose ready top jump into a new week of training?!?
Today brings the start of a new week and a new opportunity to get out there and reach our goals.
This month will see some tough workouts, but to change things up a little we will also be focusing and prioritising recovery between workouts. If you read our newsletter last week you will know we were talking all about sleep. This week our focus is on cold exposure!
When your body is exposed to extreme cold, norepinephrine floods your brain, boosting vigilance, focus, attention, and mood, while also reducing pain and inflammation. This norepinephrine spike from cold exposure delivers what is often called an endorphin rush, providing natural pain relief and an enhanced sense of well-being.

Now with a little health knowledge bomb dropped, let's jump into this week's workouts, shall we?
We will be retesting our three big lifts this week. Checking in on how our Wendler Cycle went.
Monday -
On Monday we are retesting our deadlifts, we are giving you twenty minutes to work up to a heavy single. We are going to be going after some big numbers here so make sure you are fuelled and well-rested we know you can do this!
Our workout will follow a nice rep pattern of 1-2-3 deadlifts, 3-6-9 hand-release push-ups, and 5-10-15 wall balls. We will be working for 10 minutes here so let's give it your all.
Tuesday -
We will ease into the session with some skill work. We will be working on our Kipping swing pull-ups and if you are ready some muscle ups too.
Following our skill work we will be hitting a 2 round for time workout featuring some coach favourites like bike cals, pull-ups, chest-to-bar, and muscle-ups, it's going to be a good one!
Wednesday -
Time to retest our push press1 You've got 15 minutes to hit your new one rep max, if you've got time before class why not try some cold exposure in the morning? Get yourself fired up to hit a new PB!
Our workout for the day is a little bit spicy we aren't going to lie. We will be rocking several different rounds of double unders, step-ups, and strict presses before moving into multiple rounds of double unders, burpees, and push presses. Oh and if that isn't enough, we also have a single round of double unders, burpee stepovers and push jerks.
You've got to love a solid Crossfit Sesh!
Thursday -
We're gonna start this session off with something a little lighter... not in weight but in mood! Who's ready to play a game? Details are in our App.
We will then jump into a little bit of a longer warmup before hitting not one but two 12-minute emoms! We've got slam balls, swings, Russian twist, and of course a little bit of cardio. It wouldn't be us if we didn't force some cardio into your day.
Friday -
It's our final test day so we will be giving you twenty minutes to hit your one-rep max back squat. It's gonna be a good day team!
We are then hitting a nice little run into an AMRAP all of med balls, lunges, and of course... MORE RUNNING. We've been getting used to programming these runs and making the most of this uncharacteristically nice Glasgow weather. And long may it continue!
Saturday -
Now what sort of CrossFit Gym would we be if we didn't program a named workout... Well on Saturday we are going to be hitting "SPEED BOAT" a for-time workout of rows, toes to bar, and power snatch! It's gonna be a beautiful start to the weekend!
Sunday -
Open gym, we'll have something programmed in the app if you are looking for some guidance or if you are just here to make up for a missed session or lift on your own, have at it! Sundays are for you!
We just make sure we have a well-stocked reception with all your favorite caffeinated beverages and protein snacks.
As always Muay Thai is running every night this week, with classes for complete novices down to experienced fighters. Whatever your skill level this is a great opportunity to get a sweaty workout in alongside members of our pretty exceptional community.
