Everyday Athlete Gym Classes - What is EDA X?

Ever taken a look at an EDA post on Instagram and wondered to yourself, what the heck are they on about it?

Then this post is for you.

I know what you’re thinking… the name doesn’t give much away but let me tell you about our EDA X program and why I feel you’ll fall in love with it.

What is EDA X?

EDA X is one of the three main programs offered at our Everyday Athlete Gym Glasgow.

It offers daily strength and skill training combined with a fun and effective conditioning-style workout. Each session begins with a warm-up, before exploring strength-based or gymnastic movements before finishing with a challenging cardio workout.

We've found this combination to be exceptionally effective at building a solid fitness foundation.

Whilst some people may see EDA X on a class-by-class basis, we actually program in 12 - 15 week blocks. By looking at programming in blocks we can ensure our members don't only improve their barbell and gymnastic skills, but also make progress toward their overall fitness goals.

Following on from the initial strength or gymnastics aspect, we’ll hit a conditioning piece that incorporates elements from your strength piece and hits your cardiovascular system hard.

When you attend a class at EDA it really does take some of the complexity out of your training. When you don't have to focus on programming and planning, you can just focus on turning up. Trusting that our expert coaches have created plans that allow you to progress at your key strength movements like:

Front Squat

Back Squat

Deadlift

Sumo Deadlift

Overhead Press

Push Press

Push Jerk

Bench Press

Pull Ups

Inverted Rows

Toes To Bar

This coupled with the use of loads of fun equipment such as the bike, rower, ski’erg, Airbike, Treadmill, Skipping rope, Dumbbells, Kettlebells, and Slam Balls ensures you get the best, most effective, and enjoyable workout possible.

By changing the program every 4-5 months, we help our members avoid fitness plateaus (this can happen if you do the same exercises over long periods and your body adapts to the stimulus).

If you are new to training, this program is a fantastic introduction to weightlifting and building your fitness base. Similarly, if you are more of a fitness regular EDA X helps develop mechanics, consistency, and intensity in foundational strength and moderately complex movements.

One of the best things about the EDA X program is you’ll see progress week after week as we record all your results using our EDA Member App and you’ll be able to predict what weights you should be using the next time you perform that lift. With over 11 oporrtunities to train with one of our coaches every week in person or have the programming delivered to your phone, there is no excuse to not give the program a try.

If you’d like to come down to Everyday Athlete in Glasgow and try our EDAX program we have a special Winter offer for you – 3 Sessions for £3 (a saving of £42) valid until the 30th of December.
