Welcome to a new week of training here at CrossFit EDA Glasgow.

Happy Monday Everyday Athletes and welcome to a new week of training!

We have one jam-packed week of training ahead, and we know you are going to love it.

We are continuing on with our current Olympic Lifting Cycle, and pressing ahead with our gymnastics work.

If you’ve checked your email this morning you’ll know tickets are now live for our summer social! These tickets secure your scran, so if you haven’t got yours grab it now!

If you aren’t on our email list, give one of our lovely front-of-house helpers a shout and they will get you sorted.

With all that covered, let’s jump into this week's training.

Monday -

Start the week strong with day one of our Olympic lifting cycle, with squats cleans, and clean pulls!

Before moving on to our first benchmark workout of the week with “Spin Cycle”. This challenging for-time workout will have our everyday athletes working three reps of a barbell complex, featuring a deadlift, a hang squat clean, and a full squat clean, before hitting double unders, 2 reps of our barbell complex, more double unders, a single rep of our complex and of course more double unders!

The real challenge in today’s workout is the fact that you won’t just be hitting this once, but three times! Don’t worry you do get to rest for 2 minutes between each set!

You’ve got this!

Tuesday-
Day 2 of our Olympic Lifting cycle continues with split jerks! We’ll be working at 80% of your one rep max, hitting five sets of two reps. Don’t worry we will give you plenty of time to work up to your 80% before hitting our workout of the day.

Today’s fitness is a mash-up of shuttle runs and pull-ups, we will be working on a 12-minute running clock and we will be pushing ourselves hard! Score for this one is reps!

Wednesday-
We are rocking three days of Olympic Lifting in a row! And you are totally welcome!

Today’s lift will be front squats if you’ve got them or high-bar back squats. We are looking for moderate to heavy across all four sets, so be sure to caffeinate!

Our fitness for the day will be a sixteen-minute EMOM, featuring our favorite cardio, rowing. As well as max wall balls! Because we are your favourite coaches we are programming in one minute of rest after each set of wall balls, you are welcome!

Thursday -
It’s all about gymnastics, so let’s put the barbell down. Even if it’s just for the day!

Today we are working on our Toe’s to Bar trekkers, and we will be hitting not one but two workouts today!

Workout one - an 8-minute EMOM of unbroken toes-to-bar. For beginners we will be looking for around 3-5 reps, for our intermediates, we will be looking for 5-7 reps, for our advanced members we will be looking for 7-9+ reps! What a way to start a Thursday!

Workout two - you’ve got 20 minutes to hit as many reps as possible of 20/15 bike cals, 20 sit-ups, and 5 up-down box crawl overs.

Functional fitness at its best.

Friday -
It’s time to pick up that barbell for day four of the Olly cycle! With squat snatches and snatch pulls, it’s two-for-one! You’re welcome!

Next, we are hitting a little 8 minutes of increasing reps of power snatch and hand-release push-ups. It’s gonna be sweaty!

Saturday -
Let’s keep Saturday as a surprise! But bring a pal, as we have options for a partner workout!

On Sunday we’ll give you a chance to catch up on any sessions you’ve missed or just to use the open gym as an opportunity to get some extra fitness in 🙌

Muay Thai is running every night this week as always, so for those looking to get a real good sweat on this one’s for you.

These classes cater to everyone from pro fighters, to complete beginners. We all start somewhere and this could be your sign to try something new!

We can’t wait to see what you achieve this week, so let’s get to it 🙌

If you haven’t signed up yet, you can find out more about our memberships here. Or treat yourself to a drop-in and come along and try a class.
